Research

I am a molecular ecologist, who is broadly interested in cnidarian (coral and sea anemone) symbiotic relationships with microbes and how this impacts their health and behavior. I am also interested in determining how to best help people fail productively.

Teaching

I strive to create inclusive classrooms that are inquiry-based by integrating the process of science into my courses. My upper division courses are designed to help scientists-in-training by integrating elements of my research program
