The College of Science combines academic rigor with a flexible curriculum to help you create your path to medical school. Whatever degree you choose, a science major will offer you the best possible foundation to succeed in medicine.

In the College of Science, six of our majors offer an official pre-med option, giving you a solid foundation in science that will prepare you to succeed in the MCAT and beyond: Biohealth Sciences, Biology, Biochemistry & Biophysics, Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Chemistry and Microbiology.

Medical schools prize substantive undergraduate research experiences. At Oregon State, our pre-med students have conducted research on neurodegenerative diseases, epigenetics, fluorescent sensors and much more under the guidance of eminent science faculty. We encourage all of our students to seek out inspiring research opportunities, supportive faculty mentors and undergraduate research scholarships.
