Two students studying together in classroom

A mathematics minor will enable you to acquire an extensive knowledge of mathematical concepts and computational techniques to broaden your major area of study and enhance your career options. The rigorous and flexible minor program in mathematics is designed to accommodate the academic and professional or career goals of students with majors in chemistry, physics, life sciences and health professions as well as those from engineering, business and other disciplines.

Students take foundational courses in calculus and linear algebra and select the rest of the math elective courses to complement their major field of study or an area of interest. Electives include a broad selection of courses designed to fit your program of study and career interests (see below).

Students interested in adding a minor in mathematics should contact lead advisor Dr. Adel Faridani (faridani@oregonstate.edu; 541- 737-5182; Office: Kidder 294A).
