Diversity: On the road

OSU SACNAS representatives

The College of Science set out to intentionally enhance the understanding of diversity by participating in national science conferences that attract underrepresented students and faculty.

Generous donor and alumni support enabled our faculty and students to attend two conferences that gave them the opportunity to interact and connect with a diverse, vibrant science community.

Six students attended the SACNAS National Conference, dedicated to fostering the success of Hispanic/Chicano and Native American scientists from college students to professionals. Our SACNAS chapter offers students from underrepresented backgrounds leadership, strength and a sense of community.

The College was also well represented at the MJ Murdock Charitable Trust Foundation’s College Science Research Program, which focuses on sharing and advancing new knowledge in the natural sciences discovered through faculty-student research collaborations.
