  • What are the benefits of staying in Oregon for Med School? For going to a different environment?
  • How have your life experiences prepared you for a career in medicine?
  • How will you deal with patients different from you?
  • Why do you want to be a doctor?
  • What will you do if you don't get into any medical schools?
  • What do you think is the biggest problem facing the medical industry today?
  • How would you fix it?
  • How did you choose your major?
  • Do you think we should go to war? What are the consequences?
  • Why were you motivated to do these things…religion?
  • Where do you see yourself in ten years?
  • Why don't you just become (whatever your major is)?
  • What will you contribute to our class?
  • What is your greatest accomplishment?
  • What are your biggest weaknesses? How will you deal with these in a medical career?
  • The future of medicine looks bleak, why do you want to enter it?
  • Were you encouraged by your family to pursue medicine?
  • How did you have time to do all that?
  • What are you most proud of?
  • Tell us about a time you really helped someone.

Preparation

  • They will ask you to evaluate ethical dilemmas.
  • Have three questions ready to ask the interviewer.
  • Look extensively at the school's website. What is unique about the school? What makes you want to go there?
