Alysia Vrailas-Mortimer received her Ph.D. in Genetics and Molecular Biology from Emory University and completed her postdoctoral fellowship in aging and physiology there as well. She has been an assistant professor at the University of Denver and Illinois State University and an associate professor at Illinois State University.

Research

Her research explores how and why humans age and the link between aging and age-dependent diseases such as Parkinson’s diseases, Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease and muscular dystrophies.
