From internships and research to job shadowing and careers, you choose the experience.
And we can help you get there.
Our Science Professional Pursuits Program (SP3) is a three-term, 3-credit, professional development program that provides you with the tools and guidance to identify, assess and compete for critical hands-on, transformative experiences that take you beyond the classroom and accelerate your professional and academic goals.
SP3 offers a dynamic learning environment that blends online content, in-person workshops, events and 1-on-1 sessions to help you improve your professional and communication skills.
You will be engaged in a variety of group exercises, personalized coaching, mock interviews and active learning. Our instructors and coaches bring their STEM-focused expertise from across industries, academic research, healthcare and non-profit environments to help you develop your own personal “career brand” to give you a competitive edge with employers.
Who can participate?
All undergraduates in the College of Science who are in good academic standing and are a sophomore or above are welcome to participate in SP3. The program is particularly useful when it is completed during your sophomore or junior year, but it is also helpful to students considering next steps after graduation.
If you are not in good academic standing, you can still register but you need to get a letter of support from your academic advisor.
First attend the virtual information session via Zoom (Meeting ID: 926 3995 8509, +1 971 247 1195) on May 20, 2020 at 4 p.m.
Then apply to join the cohort. Once accepted, register for GS 399 fall term 2020. To learn more about SP3, contact Tamara Mitchell at firstname.lastname@example.org.
