Integrated Professional Development

Integrated training to give you an edge

Memorial Union at sunset

With a guided-pathway curriculum combined with co-curricular experiences, our Integrated Professional Development (IPD) program helps you develop and connect knowledge and skills throughout your undergraduate education at Oregon State over time, in and out of the classroom.

Our unique Integrated Professional Development features a suite of innovative career preparation programs based on a one-of-a-kind platform that helps students develop professional development skills with content that is integrated into their First-Year Experience science courses and prepares them for experiential learning to stand out in the job or graduate school market. This program is paramount to our students’ success beyond the classroom.

You have access to special networking events with industry leaders, alumni and employers. You will receive coaching on securing an internship, how to talk about your strengths and areas of improvement with employers, translating your classroom learning and lab experiences in interviews and more.

Our special integrated platform helps students build the requisite skill set needed for career and life success in the 21st century. With its holistic approach, the program ensures that students explore and imagine different career paths and life goals early in their studies, hone job-seeking skills such as resume writing and interviewing and build interpersonal skills so highly valued by employers.

Our IPD approach can make the difference between being another highly skilled science graduate and a science graduate with the in-demand job and people skills employers are seeking.

“This program has really allowed me to become more confident about my background, my skills and my prospects. I think I came in with a bit of imposter syndrome. The meetings allowed me to put things into perspective and shift the focus from worry to constructive work.” -BioHealth Sciences major

Stand out from the crowd with enhanced professional skills
