Study, hang out and discover your community

Whether you are looking for a quiet, inspiring space to do individual or group studying, seeking answers from our Peer Advisors and professional support staff, or exploring academic opportunities, internships and career development resources and coaching, the Science Success Center (SSC) is committed to helping you achieve your goals as a science major. The SSC also assists any OSU student taking a science class.

The SSC is a welcoming physical space to support collaborative learning and enrichment among science students. Here, students can study, get questions answered by our staff and Peer Advisors, print documents for free, grab a free coffee, use a conference room to meet with study partners or just relax after a busy schedule of classes.

Come in for a visit! You can also reach us by email at sciencesuccess@oregonstate.edu.

We are here to help! Please come by Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., or reach out to us at sciencesuccess@oregonstate.edu.

Career development and learning beyond the classroom

The SSC hosts career programs, panels and workshops to enhance student success, learning and career development opportunities for College of Science students.

In addition to their popular study breaks, the SSC also welcomes students to other entertaining and stress buster events such as "Finals Succ(ulents)," a de-stress event where students enjoy hot cocoa, tea and biscuits while unleashing their creative side. De-stress events during midterms and finals as well as a variety of student wellness events throughout the academic year give science students an opportunity to hang out, interact with their peers, pet therapy dogs and enjoy delicious food and snacks.

A supportive staff of professional advisors, career counselors and peer advisors are available to help you make the most of your academic journey as a science major and lay the foundations for a rewarding job or career after graduation.

The staff provides support for science students who have academic challenges, offering guidance and tools to address any obstacles. Staff counsel and support students through individual challenges and help them develop the skills to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
